This typical South Indian dish is rice cooked with vegetables or meat, seasoned with spices reminiscent of the flavours of Madras and Bangalore. Brown your vegetables, meat or poultry in a saucepan with a little oil. Add this spice mixture then the raw rice. Start with a teaspoon of the mixture for 100g of rice. Cover everything with cold water and cook without stirring until the water has completely evaporated.
