
Classic Chocolate Lava Cake
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 170g dark chocolate, chopped
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Butter and cocoa powder for ramekins
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Grease ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.
- Melt butter and dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water. Stir until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, beat eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until thick and pale.
- Fold the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture. Gently fold in the flour.
- Divide the batter among the prepared ramekins and bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- Let cool for 1 minute, then invert onto plates.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dusting of powdered sugar.
